Membership of the CELLA is open to university scholars and academic members from other institutions of higher learning as well as to graduate students and to other persons with appropriate scholarly interests in Cameroon and abroad.

Membership Process

Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic Background: Hold a minimum of Master's degree (Student Membership) or a doctorate degree (Regular Member) and actively engage in research, teaching, or advanced study in English language, linguistics, English education, literature, or literary theory.

  • Specialized Focus: Demonstrate professional or academic involvement in fields such as language, literature, or related interdisciplinary domains.

  • Commitment to Research: Express a clear willingness to contribute to or participate in the professional research initiatives promoted by the association.

Application Process

  • Submit a completed application form accompanied by an updated academic curriculum vitae (CV) highlighting relevant qualifications, publications, or teaching experience.

  • Undergo application review by the executive committee or designated membership panel to verify alignment with the association's research objectives.

  • Complete membership registration and activate status upon approval of credentials.

  • Engage in association research activities, conferences, workshops, and collaborative projects exploring the interplay of language, literature, and other disciplines.

  • Uphold high standards of academic integrity, ethical research practices, and professional courtesy within the association's community.

  • Contribute to the association’s intellectual growth by sharing research findings, participating in peer discussions, and mentoring emerging scholars in English studies.

  • Maintain Good Standing through adherence to association guidelines and fulfillment of any applicable institutional or professional contributions.
